Dustin Francis Photography Blog bio picture

WELCOME!

Thank you for stopping by my photography blog. My name is Dustin Francis and I am a wedding photographer from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

This blog follows all aspects of my life, but most importantly, my life as a wedding photographer. This blog is intended to be an up to date journal of my daily life as well as a way to share with all that visit my love for photography and the images I create! I have to admit that the old cliche is true, if you truly love what you do, you won't work a day in your life!

I love the way the wedding photography industry is; where we can all share and have input into one anothers personal and professional lives. I enjoy teaching and learning constantly to aid me in coming up with unique ways to tell the story of my life as well as the lives of the wonderful brides and grooms I have the pleasure to photograph. You know you want to leave me a comment!

Brooke + Brian: Engagement

I met up with Brooke and Brian at Bookie’s dowtown Detroit, where Brian DJ’s regularly.  From there we went down to the riverwalk to grab a few shots.  It was only a few days before their wedding and the weather was looking rather dull, but as I said to Brooke, “better now then on your wedding day.”  I had a fun time with the two of them and was so happy to see them be able to warm up to the camera so quickly.  One thing for sure…there were plenty of smiles and laughing going on :)  Here are a few pics!

Gimme some art…

Well, if you’ve been to my house, you might have noticed that for a photographer, my walls sure are bare.  So I am going to remedy that problem over the next few months.  I walked around my neighborhood today with my camera to “warm up” to taking images of things that aren’t people.  I just thought I’d share with you some of what I captured.  Nothing that I will be putting up, but it was fun and I’m excited for what I will find if I actually get in my car and drive somewhere.  These are slightly cropped, because I made them into wallpapers which are a little wider than what you see, but you can get the idea non-the-less.  For you photographers out there, these were shot with a Nikon D3, 70-200 f/2.8 and the close-up shots had a Canon 500D close-up filter attached.  Enjoy some pretty-ness :)

P.S.  Lots of blog posts coming!

Tricia + Kevin: Engagement

You might remember Tricia and Kevin from their engagement session I did last October.  We decided to get together again and take a few more shots at Gallup Park in Ann Arbor.  One of the things I love about Tricia and Kevin, is how good they are at acting like the camera is not there and just having a good time.  It was nice seeing you two again and I’m excited for your wedding.  I’m glad you enjoyed The Blue Tractor too!  Enjoy the pics.
